How Taco Uses Rise Vision to Bridge Workplace Communication Gaps

How Taco Uses Rise Vision to Bridge Workplace Communication Gaps

Christina Cagliotti-Diglio is a Digital Designer at Taco, a global leader in hydronic and water-driven solutions. With more than 100 years of innovation, Taco provides high-performance products for HVAC, plumbing, and industrial sectors, serving both residential and commercial markets. Christina has been with Taco since 2018 and played a key role in bringing Rise Vision into the organization’s internal communications strategy.

Intranet Made for Ineffective Employee Communications

Taco operates across multiple countries with several manufacturing plants and facilities. For their North American locations, internal communication was inconsistent, especially for frontline employees who didn’t have regular access to email or the company’s intranet.

Christina shared that at the time, the internal intranet they were using was terrible. Employees weren’t using it, and there was no effective way to get people on the factory floor able to log into the intranet to see updates and important messages.

This communication gap made it difficult to inform employees about HR updates, safety protocols, company news, and other timely events. The company needed a reliable, visual, and easily managed solution that could meet people where they were - physically and contextually.

Rise Vision Helps Improve Workplace Communication

Christina began discussing solutions with her colleague Christopher Ruggeri, Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, who had used Rise Vision in a previous role. Together, they evaluated several platforms. According to Christina, Rise Vision stood out immediately. Rise Vision’s pricing was better and the platform was a lot better than competitors. Christopher spoke very highly of Rise Vision, so that’s how Taco ended up with Rise.

Since becoming a customer over 6 years ago, Taco has grown their network of digital signage across multiple facilities, using Rise Vision to power location-specific communications in a way that is scalable, brand-compliant, and easy to manage.

“I started having this conversation with Chris. And he had used [Rise Vision] before in a previous role, at a previous job. So we looked at [Rise Vision] and a couple other vendors, but [Rise Vision’s] pricing was better and the platform was a lot better and Chris spoke very highly of you [Rise Vision].” - Christina Cagliotti-Diglio

Keeping Everyone in the Loop, From Day One

What makes Taco’s use of Rise Vision stand out is their multi-layered communication strategy that ensures every employee - whether on the production floor or in the front office - stays connected to what matters.

The digital displays also play a critical role in onboarding new employees, making it easier to direct them to self-serve tools and resources via the company intranet.

Christina shared how digital signage is improving Taco’s onboarding strategy:

“It's really easy to get [new employees] ready and trained and understand where to look for information. It's been helpful so people know where to go to get [information]... We've got all our messaging on the monitors now, so it makes it a lot easier.”

Digital Signage Helps to Create a More Informed and Engaged Workforce

Rise Vision has become a centralized platform for Taco to communicate everything from HR updates to safety notices to team celebrations.

With multiple facilities spread across the country, Taco uses digital signage to bridge communication gaps across teams, departments, and locations. Each screen is carefully placed in high-traffic areas like lobbies, breakrooms, offices, and manufacturing floors, delivering timely content that aligns with both company-wide goals and site-specific needs.

The displays feature a wide range of messaging to create a more informed and engaged workforce, including:

    • HR announcements and phone directories
    • Safety updates and team contact info
    • Internal event promotions with QR code signups
    • Live broadcasts or replays of CEO messages
    • Real-time Power BI dashboards to share team performance
    • Facility expansion updates
    • Company milestones and employee celebrations

Their use is varied and highly strategic, supporting the company’s goals of improving communication, employee morale, and operational awareness.

Christina and her team manage the brand and visuals while empowering HR and department leads to contribute content relevant to their teams. All content goes through a quality control process for brand compliance and clarity.

Power BI Integration for Team Dashboards

Taco recently began integrating Power BI dashboards into Rise Vision to support their sales and customer service teams. These displays include performance metrics, real-time updates, and department achievements.

Power BI dashboards and reports are a great way to share performance visibility amongst departments. And since launching these data-driven displays, there have been more requests from other teams to add strategy driven information to their displays.

    Company-Wide Event Promotion and Recaps

Another way Taco is using Rise Vision is to promote workplace engagement. Company events like summer outings are promoted using QR codes displayed on the screens, making it easy for employees to register. After the fun, the same displays are used to show event photos and highlights.

Christina shared that since promoting company events on their digital display, they’ve seen an uptick in attendance at events, and more scans of the QR codes. Sharing photos from events also helps with morale because people stop and talk about the photos, making them become a conversation point.

    CEO Broadcasts

To ensure transparency and keep everyone aligned, Taco uses Rise Vision to live stream or replay important announcements from the CEO. These messages are shared across displays company-wide, ensuring every employee, regardless of location, can hear directly from leadership.

    Encouraging Employees to Self-Service Resources

Rise Vision displays also serve as a gateway to Taco’s new (and improved) intranet, making it easier for employees to find important resources on their own.

Christina and her team use signage to promote self-service access, highlight relevant tools, and encourage proactive engagement.

The Results: A More Informed and Engaged Workforce

Since implementing Rise Vision, Taco has seen a meaningful shift in how internal communication is shared and received across its facilities.

“It’s definitely made us more aware of what’s going on. We’re getting messaging out more easily and reaching people where they naturally congregate,” Christina explained.

The HR team has especially benefited, using the displays to efficiently distribute announcements and drive engagement with the company intranet. Rather than relying on one-on-one conversations or walk arounds to deliver updates, teams can now point employees to digital displays as a central, visual source of truth.

    Other measurable improvements include:

    • Better visibility for internal events, updates, and new product launches
    • Increased employee engagement and morale through shared celebrations and event recaps
    • Easier onboarding experiences for new employees with clear signage on where to find important information

The digital signage network has not only reduced friction in how information is shared but has also become a catalyst for casual conversation, helping employees feel more connected to their workplace.

What Can Other Industrial Organizations Learn From Taco?

Taco demonstrates how a distributed workforce can be unified through smart, strategic use of digital signage.

    Key takeaways:

    • Visual communication reaches everyone: Especially those not tied to a desk.
    • Localized messaging increases relevance: Displays show content that matters to each facility.
    • Brand management and collaboration can coexist: Marketing controls design while HR and other departments contribute content.
    • Scalability matters: The continued addition of displays across locations proves communication with digital signage is effective in the workplace.
    • Data-driven content boosts engagement: Power BI dashboards and QR code tracking offer measurable outcomes.

Looking ahead, Taco plans to expand their Rise Vision use to European locations and Vietnam, training teams there to create and manage content tailored to their regions. They are also implementing a more formalized approval workflow using Asana to streamline content requests.

With Rise Vision, Taco has transformed internal communication from outdated intranet pages and static bulletin boards into a dynamic, visible part of daily work culture—one screen at a time.
