National Safety Month - Sun Protection Poster

Wearing appropriate sun protection is a very important summer safety tip for kids. It is highly recommended that all kids wear sunscreen, regardless of skin tone. Applying sunscreen should be done before heading outdoors and should be reapplied after activities like swimming. Protective clothing is another form of sun protection for kids. Sun hats and shades keep heads cool and eyes shaded from the bright summer sun. However, it’s important to note that skin can get sunburned even on a cloudy day. Share this poster to help remind kids about this important safety tip on social media!

Note: You may want to avoid sunscreen that includes the ingredient octocrylene

National Safety Month - Stay Hydrated Poster

This is another key summer safety tip for kids during National Safety Month and also all year long. With the summer heat and longer hours spent outdoors, it’s easy to lose fluids and become dehydrated. Students should be encouraged and reminded to fill a reusable water bottle so they can easily re-hydrate during outdoor activities. The daily amount that children should drink depends on a few factors. This table provides a guide for school-aged children. It’s important to remember that kids often need multiple reminders of summer safety tips like this.

Visual cues are also helpful in getting kids’ attention. Rise Vision digital signage software is a great way to put posters like this on a rotating schedule, to keep these summer safety tips top of mind for students.

National Safety Month - Online Safety Poster

Kids spend an incredible amount of time online these days. Online safety reminders go a long way to helping kids stay safe online. Whether they are online for summer school or because of bad weather this summer, be sure to share these summer safety tips with students for the times when they have to be online. This poster shares two key tips that K12 students need to know: 1: Don’t share private information like your home address or date of birth; 2: Always get permission before buying anything online

National Safety Month - Bike Helmet Posters

Remind students of the importance of wearing a helmet when they are riding their bikes, scooters, or skateboarding this summer. This one is an important summer safety tip. Children often get injured while bike riding and helmets go a long way in protecting their heads from serious injury. Students should be reminded that choosing the right size of a helmet is even more important than choosing one that looks cool. Share this poster with students and help them to stay safe this summer.

As an added bonus, the vertical posters can work well as phone backgrounds. The bright, summery colors are sure to be a hit with kids! And those who have phones can take their reminders with them, on the go.

Safety In Schools

Summer safety tips are important for students in the summer, but schools need to prioritize safety throughout the school year. Digital signage is a critically important tool in ensuring that safety notifications and alerts are displayed where you need them, exactly when you need them most. Rise Vision digital signage software integrates with the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP Alerts) system to help schools share emergency notifications and information. Getting CAP Alerts set up on your digital signage is very easy. When it’s set up, you’ll be able to send notifications about:

  • Severe Weather
  • Emergencies (eg. Fire)
  • Safety Reporting

The effects of the global pandemic require schools to now post notices and reminders to students about social distancing requirements, mask-wearing, and room capacity limitations. Rise Vision digital signage software is the best ally to make posting these notifications painless and fast. Learn more about getting emergency notifications set up on your digital signage.

The free National Safety Month posters are available in both landscape and portrait orientations in JPEG and PDF file formats. This gives lots of options for sharing this information with students, whether online through slide decks, on social media, or in emails. The portrait-oriented posters also do double-duty as phone backgrounds! Of course, they can also be printed out and used in classrooms. Also, with Rise Vision cloud-based digital signage solution, these posters can be accessed as free templates that can be shared on digital signage throughout your school.
