Rise Vision, the all-in-one platform for digital signage, screen sharing, and emergency alerts, announced it has completed the final milestone in its accessibility initiative: an updated Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) confirming the Rise Vision app conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA — a standard that meets and exceeds the WCAG 2.1 AA benchmark the U.S. Department of Justice requires public entities to reach under the ADA Title II rule by April 26, 2027, or April 26, 2028 for entities with populations under 50,000 and special district governments.
The announcement lands as public school districts, cities, and other state and local government entities face that fast-approaching deadline. Under the DOJ rule, public entities must ensure covered web content and mobile apps conform to WCAG 2.1 AA by the applicable 2027 or 2028 deadline. Rise Vision's conformance already clears that bar, giving customers a head start rather than a scramble.
"Accessibility isn't a compliance checkbox for us — it's how we build," said Brian Loosbrock, CEO of Rise Vision. "Completing this milestone means our customers get to spend their time focusing on what matters most: communicating, fostering collaboration, and creating a positive culture, not chasing a deadline."
The VPAT, verified through routine independent audits by Accessible Web, documents how the Rise Vision app conforms across all four WCAG principles: content that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Rise Vision's standard and interactive templates are built to the same WCAG 2.2 AA standard, including color contrast and text sizing, and interactive displays position touch controls within the ADA's required reach range out of the box.
Rather than treating conformance as a one-time check, Rise Vision runs accessibility reviews continuously as part of its regular development cycle, with Accessible Web routinely re-auditing the app to confirm it stays current. For customers, that translates into fewer accessibility gaps to catch on their own end and one less compliance risk to manage.
