About RPT Motion
RPT Motion, a 30-year-old small business based in Dorval, Quebec with more than a decade of experience with mechanical structures. They create and assemble components used in manufacturing and Industrial automation, and they also integrate with T-slotted aluminum extrusions.
With their own CNC shop, RPT Motion has built a range of structures, from flight simulators to trade show staples. These need to be assembled quickly and accurately while accommodating abling and computer mounting.
Last year, RPT designed and built a new system of modular VESA mounts and flexible design support structures, which are specifically aimed at the digital signage business. Designed and produced in Canada, these structures complement T-slotted extrusions and various assorted CNC equipment. This means total flexibility on layout and structure, leading to a variety of simple, artistic and complex applications.
A Digital Signage Solution
RPT Motion understands the challenges their customers might face when installing digital signage mounts. That’s why they looked for a digital signage solution to display content on demo screens at their headquarters for their own set-up experience. Following that RPT Motion has adjusted its mounts to make them as simple as possible.
RPT chose Rise Vision as their digital signage solution because they found it easy to use, cost effective, reliable and quite flexible. When testing, they used an Intel NUC which runs either Windows 7 or Ubuntu. They then built some simple content to populate their screens for demos.
Custom Digital Signage Mounts
RPT’s first foray into signage mounts is creating custom mounts for glass storefronts. Glass storefronts are an area where their display mounting systems work especially well. They can floor mount or ceiling hang 47-70+ inches displays on both sides in portrait or landscape. Or they can also mount single or double sided artistic arrays. Their systems are based on Standard RPT VESA mounts with custom frameworks to support the desired installation.
Because every order is custom they include options for mounting electronics and power distribution. RPT’s CAD design cycle and delivery for a customized system could be as short as 2-3 weeks from order.
RPT is working on many other potential mounting set ups, which we will post about on our blog in the coming weeks. RPT’s first foray into signage was creating custom mounts for glass storefronts. Glass storefronts are particularly compatible with digital mounting signs as they allow you to floor-mount or ceiling-hang 47-70+ inches displays on both sides, in portrait or landscape. They can also mount single or double sided artistic arrays. Glass storefront systems are based on Standard RPT VESA mounts with custom frameworks to support the desired installation.
This is a unit they recently built. It is an enclosed mount with two LG47” displays on wheels with Intel NUC’s, and Wi-Fi for mobility.
