Security
Securing your content
We constantly monitor hacking attempts using automated tools. We run regularly scheduled (hourly) automated attacks against our own systems. These attacks are the same ones used by the hacking community. While we have detected countless intrusion attempts from the internet, we have never been hacked. An important part of our security strategy involves the use of an extremely long, proprietary key that is unique to each player installation. This key is designed such that its guaranteed to be globally unique, and is of such a length that it is virtually impossible to guess. This key must be combined with the request and be precisely formatted to be able to perform any sort of request on the server. Further, the range of possible operations that may be invoked is very limited. These processes are in turn, designed to be invoked in a highly specific and proprietary way so as to limit the type of and scope of operations that can called.
The data center
We partner with a global data center leader that is an enterprise-grade, tier 1 network provider with SAS-70 certification to host our servers. From their facilities, we offer multi-tenant security on shared infrastructure with a service level agreement (SLA) that includes a 99.9% uptime guarantee and quick response times. Our systems are constantly monitored, and updates are applied at times of the day that result in a minimum interruption of service to our users.
Advanced security
Secure your content by using Port 443 for https/SSL encrypted communication. Communications will be fully encrypted using Triple DES encryption. All communication will use three factor authentication to validate the caller. All three factors will be encrypted in our message header with a hidden key. This is over and above the message encryption and SSL/https (coming soon)
Appliance security
If the appliance is going to be used solely as a Digital Display, there is low risk of any security breach and or virus contamination since the machine will not be used for browsing or any other user interaction. For this reason, Rise Vision does not see an inherent need to install a Firewall or Anti Virus program on an appliance. If there is a corporate policy for security software on an appliance, there are some necessary exceptions that must be added to the firewall, proxy, or internet security program. Click here for exceptions.
