This release includes improvements to transitions, automatic scaling for background images and Placeholder proportional resizing with the shift key to fulfill a request that Jeff had way back when in the forum. As always the code for our open source digital signage software can be found here and if you have any suggestions, complaints or questions jump into our lively forum discussion. Just a quick note on transitions; since we have removed 2 of the existing transitions, if you had any Playlist items set up to use either “Rotate” or “Zoom”, the transition will change to “None”.
Next up are improvements to the login page, it is just taking too many steps to get there, customizable logout pages and a few enablers to streamline your registration process. And last, but definitely not least, we are in the process of enabling near real-time communication between your Displays and our server. I know we are pretty close to that now with one minute polling, but this will make it even faster once we bring on Google’s new Channel API. We are pretty jazzed about this one. Look for this release mid December – an early Christmas Present!
