Our Foursquare Gadget is popular with public venues where check-ins are welcome. Now, we have updated our Gadget to give users even more options to customize the Gadget for Presentations.

Here’s a rundown of all the things you can now do with the new Foursquare Gadget.

Specials, Tips, and Photos. The Foursquare Gadget now transitions through Foursquare’s features, including specials, tips, and photos, with each item showing for 10 seconds before dissolving to the next item.

Custom Design and Layout. We have removed some design elements, such as borders, backgrounds, and logos to allow for better customization of the Gadget. Now, a designer can put these elements into a background image rather than be tied to a mandatory design. The layout can be completely customized via a Layout XML. We have included a window to add the URL for the layout.

QR Code. You can add your QR code to the Gadget as well, encouraging people to check in.

Location. You can choose the location from Foursquare, either your company or the location of the display.

Font Color and Size. You can customize the copy details for each feature independently.

Overall, the ability to customize the Foursquare Gadget will help you better design the perfect Presentation for your venue.

You can find the help page for the Foursquare Gadget here. This is released to the open source community on our project site. And, as always, we are happy to chat with you about these on our forum.
